Might be solving a mystery. Or rewriting history. He/Him

While blurbs and solicits may not indicate what's going to be inside, it is a little frustrating that major elements like what's going on with MJ or following up Felicia's kiss with Peter aren't going to be explored in ASM, but potentially fobbed off to a tie in mini....

I also don't think we're going to get much regarding MJ out of this tie in.

From what it feels like, this is going to be more of a Spidey/Wolverine team up than actually doing anything to tease or even reveal anything about MJ's situation.

A lot to unpack with this one.

First off, glad it's happening and that we get someone who actually seems to like MJ writing the book.

But from the solicits this once again sounds like it's going to be a Felicia series with MJ as a guest star.

Saw this type of rationalization a lot during the BND days.

It's a sad sign when you end up dismissing the storytelling process as a whole rather than just acknowledge a piece of a story was poorly written.

This also likely means scuttling plans for a possible Peter/Felicia romance, since that would again not go over well with the new story.

But unfortunately, work on that was already done before these changes were even made...

But with the Hellfire Gala and Dark Web changing things for her character, this means that the plans involving her character has to change considerably.

Either getting pushed back or changed outright.

At the same time, the X-Men books likely came to them with the idea of using MJ as part of the Hellfire Gala, which the Spider-Offices agreed with figuring it was a good way to set up Dark Web.

But that's when the problem arises...

Look no further than Spider-Rex, which already has a toy on the shelf despite the fact that he *just* debuted in the comics at the same time.

So they had all this work done, but now a crossover seemed pointless since it wasn't tying into the film.

Now they couldn't outright cancel it or move these comics since work on them had already been done, with people who worked on the film contributing to a lot of the ideas and the concepts.

So a lot of this stuff was already in the bag by the time of the delay.

Again, just a theory, but I think there were three major factors in why this happened-

Across the Spider-Verse being moved, the Hellfire Gala, and Dark Web.

So what to I mean by that?
