@RipleyJNick I've commissioned art of my main characters. Clockwise, Yaetherim by @_o8cho, Tenora by @pamonhaart, Naeliya by @_o8cho and Karis by @KaiArtx.

I'm mostly a visual thinker, so having art of them helps fuel my writing.

@RipleyJNick I'd have to say Naeliya. Fairies believe they're each created for a purpose, but she hasn't found hers. So she drifted into the 'default' job of messenger, and suffers from ennui as a result. She's turned to alcohol to cope.

@justin_author Tenora and Karis will get together over the course of my novels. They work together, then Tenora helps Karis cope with a case that cuts too close to home.

@justin_author Nelack Elmet is a non-binary mage, who missed out on a career in their home town due to nepotism. After a divine nudge, they've spent three years wandering around Rychilla, doing good deeds and learning. They know more of the kingdom than any other Rychillan.

@justin_author Naeliya was bored. She'd drifted into her role as a messenger within the town of Alkentoft, and doesn't fancy doing that as her job for the next 150 years or so of her life.

Then she meets Yaetherim, and realises that his job (private eye) is also meant to be her purpose.

@andrewtekken Not in the story, but backstory. Fairies undergo a process called 'the gleaning', which transforms them to bring them closer to their natural element. It happens the first time they touch a crystal of their element. This art, by @_o8cho, shows a florakimd and a waterkind.

@silverjoys Charlys stands out, mainly due to something she's missing. Most people, fairies and humans, have magic of one element or another. She doesn't. So she never underwent an elemental transformation, and retains the hair and skin she had as a youngling. (Art by @_o8cho).

@EdenSolera Rychillan clothing is usually very short-sleeved. This is due to the tattooed marks that run up their arms, which indicate social status, etc.

Forest fairies usually wear clothes woven from plants and leaves, but town fairies wear outfits closer to humans.
