@RipleyJNick I'd have to say Naeliya. Originally the love interest for Yaetherim, it turns out she's aro/ace. So now she's become 'the Watson', in the style of Lucy Liu's version in 'Elementary'. I.e. she becomes a detective in her own right.

@QuillQuestions Terax marks, the tattoos along Karis' left arm in the image. All Rychillans have them. They show class, profession, rank & achievements.

Originally was just one tattoo. But it needed to be dynamic. Figured it out after seeing a bloke with a tattoo sleeve.

@gmtvarley I've got two characters who are ace spec. Naeliya (fairy) is aro/ace. I figured that out when I tried to write a love scene between her and another MC. It just didn't seem right.

Karis (human) is demiromantic & demisexual, but hasn't figured that out yet.

@JazzReenn Yaetherim had a hole cut in his right wing. No magic was used to fix it, but he had a patch of fabric stitched over the hole. It allowed him to fly again, but he can't feel that part of the wing. It's similar to a prosthetic limb.

@nativeprotag Yaetherim has 9 scars - 8 on his limbs, another across his chest, and a hole cut in his right wing.

He was on patrol as a forest protector when he found two humans trespassing. They attacked him with a water lance and left him for dead. He survived.

@Utgardloki2 Glasses are available in Rychilla. Generally speaking, anything that was around in 1901 could be. Naeliya, one of my MCs, does wear glasses. Yaetherim, another MC, has a brother who wears glasses.

@tonykelsey My Rychillan characters drive steam cars, which come in a variety of different body styles. Fire and water magic provide the steam.

Fairies just fly everywhere. But the handles on vehicle roofs are there for them to grab on and hitch a ride.

@MidoriAnzai @Akanetto2 I'd say Karis. She's not so much grumpy as cold and 100% professional, never really off duty. For this she's earned the nickname 'the steel veritor'. (A veritor is a senior town guard.)
