Celebrating the rain and sun we’ve had this week with a Sunday glimpse at Alfie Weather.

Early one morning Dad and Alfie were in the kitchen having a chat before Mum and Annie Rose were awake. This was their special time together, just the two of them.

‘I’m just checking whether the Flying Loobies are here yet’ Neil told Alfie. Alfie wasn’t quite sure that he liked the idea of Flying Loobies. Alfie lay awake for a long time… finally he crept out of bed and went to fetch Dad.

Then Alfie made a brave decision. He ran and put down his blanket, very carefully, in a safe place underneath the table. Now he could hold Min’s hand, too, as well as Bernard’s.

Min began to cry. Bernard’s Mum was cross with Bernard and told him to say he was sorry.

Min wanted to sit next to Alfie. She stopped crying and pulled her chair right up close to his.

That night Dave had Dogger in bed beside him. Bella was practising somersaults.
‘Shall you miss that big Teddy?’ Dave asked her.
‘No,’ said Bella. ‘I didn’t like him much really. Anyway if I had another Teddy in my bed there wouldn’t be room for me.’

One lady had a Toy Stall, full of knitted ducks and cars and baby dolls in bonnets. And there, at the very back of the stall, behind a lot of other toys, was - Dogger!

At bed-time Dave said:
‘I want Dogger.’
But Dogger was nowhere to be found.
Dave was very sad when he went to bed. Bella kindly lent him one of her teddies to go to sleep with but it was not the same thing as Dogger.

Then Bernard went all the way back to help him up, and they scooted on together.

As they crossed the finish line, everyone gave them a big cheer.
