Bernadetta von Varley (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)

How can you NOT love Bernie? She has gone through HORRIBLE trauma that just makes me want to keep her safe and happy. Even so, she remains a sweet (but skittish) soul, and grows SO much during the game.

Towa Herschel (Trails of Cold Steel)

What I most love about Towa is that although she isn't suited for combat, she always jumps in to fight for her friends and students. She's a good soul, and one of the smartest in the series. She is also ADORABLY smol.

Ryotaro Dojima (Persona 4)

Dojima is a good man. He is willing to throw his life away to try and find who killed his wife. I love how, through his time with Yu and Nanako, he learns that he can't sacrifice his current family chasing ghosts from his past.

I adore Soleil's philosophy of always trying to make people smile. I find it adorable that she is an immense flirt, but crumbles with cute girls. Whether Soleil is gay or Bi, she was also one of the first LGBTQ FE characters!

I adore Kagero's kindness and loyalty. It moved me that she decided to take her retainer position because her older brother was sickly, and she wanted to save him. The fact that her hobbies always look 'dark' is also adorable!

Van Grants (Tales of the Abyss)

A good story needs a good villain. While there's nothing revolutionary about Van's motives, his plot is a unique one. What really makes Van is the ties he has to the cast, and how painful his treachery is to some of them.

Meredy is too precious a soul to not love. She travels alone on a mission to save two worlds, despite speaking a language no one on one side can understand. She lives with hope and joy always. ..Even when her Mom is the villain.

Fuuka Yamagishi (Persona 3)

I relate strongly to Fuuka's feelings of needing to be useful to friends and downplaying her own talents. She is filled with anxiety, but it makes her so compelling when she overcomes it through the course of the game.
