Lovely visit to the @WallaceMuseum. Their main collection (free to visit) is exceptional. And their current special exhibition on 18th century French art which inspired #Disney was fascinating. Hadn't spotted Fragonard's The Swing's (in Wallace's main collection) cameo in Frozen.
Up the River (1930, John Ford)
Spencer Tracy and Humphrey Bogart, both in their film debuts, star as convicts in this surprisingly light in tone prison escapade. #PreCodeApril
The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018,Eli Roth)
Orphaned Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) is sent to live with his eccentric uncle, Jonathan (Jack Black), who turns out to be a warlock with puzzles to solve. Love the banter between Jonathan & his neighbour (Cate Blanchett). The rest? OK.
@SWSilents @NeilKBrand @CineRedis @SlapstickFest @FilmHubSW @CinemaMuseum @kenbioscope @silentfilmcal @bdcmuseum @CurzonClevedon @wshed Best start limbering up then!
@drjonty @agentandagent I like it! Think it'll be a winner!
Titanic (1943, Herbert Selpin)
German WW2 film comissioned to show-off their quality filmmaking (good minature work). Frames the sinking of the Titanic as due to American & English businessmen's greed, they are then later shown as cowards, whilst a german officer remains brave.

Shock (1946, Alfred L. Werker)
Janet (Anabel Shaw) witnesses a chap (#VincentPrice) murder his wife. Un-noir-fortunately he turns out to be the psychiatrist called into to help her recover from the shock, but his lover (Lynn Bari) has other plans. A decent 70min noir. #Noirvember
