Frau Holle has power over the ice and snow in Germanic folklore, as well as a willingness to mete out reward and punishment. While East of the Sun and West of the Moon doesn't specifically mention snow (that I remember!), the girl travels through all weather.

I'm still struggling to pin down a style - I keep seeing others' work and wishing my style was different! I tried to paint these using dif techniques on top of same sketch/base layer but as you see still very similar!

Legend has it that no one has ever survived falling into The Strid.

Forced into a narrow valley, the river rapidly becomes fast and deep, water undercutting the rocks and causing a labyrinth of swirling traps and tunnels.

And then there's the beasties...
