I know this one is Slott's fault but people have got to stop saying they think Spider-Man is Catholic. I don't care what else you think he is but this is not a Catholic, not even a fake comic book "writer has apparently never seen a Catholic" Catholic.
however this one panel is good if you ignore the little word box because they're all cute and I love them.
Additionally, if anyone is familiar with my longer Jewish Peter Parker posts, I've written about "wit as a weapon" being one of Spider-Man's very Jewish traits. "Intelligence as a weapon, humor as a defense" feels very much like an echo of that standpoint to me.
It was recommended re: my Jewish Peter Parker tweets that I read Non-Stop Spidey #4, and there's a lot here: a n*zi referring to him as "unclean" and "subhuman" and Peter reacting in rage to a line referencing gold fillings and specifically referring to the present antisemitism.
This scene is good painful but knowing how it plays out later -- and then that that's the last we've heard of Philip Watson since -- leaves a little bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. The onus shouldn't be on Mary Jane to repair a relationship she didn't break.
I know Kaine is technically the "middle child" but his baby sibling energy is just off the charts.
I love Aunt Anna. 😭 A severely underrated secondary Spider-Man character who I don't think we've seen for literally ten years.
Thinking about Mary Jane in the Sensational Spider-Man Annual. Amazing characterization from just before Marvel drove the whole Spider-Man train straight into the river.
