@CrazyCollector1 Every time I see an 8-bit Popeye cassette, I think of this one. Though the Alternative Software game is different. It looks like a more traditional platform game. Will have to check it out. 👍
@JamesPond47 @Al82_Retro @dantootill But, if I'd got that compilation, I don't know that I would have given Gryzor more than a few minutes. Just about every other game in that pack was really very good. 👍 I was just trying out Combat School again this week, and I'd forgotten quite how good it was. 😎
@NoizeNationUK @CrazyCollector1 Looking at Lemon64, it sounds like Artic's World Cup Football really is buggy and awful. 😐

But I've always been of the opinion that Internation Soccer was always the way to go on the C64. 😁
@Jaruzel @RetroGamer_Mag The Sentinel has such a beautiful suspenseful atmosphere about it, and looks stunningly beautiful for a game on a humble 8-bit computer.
It's worth checking out for the amazing loading-picture by Bob Stevenson alone. 😁

The Iron Man race, with vertical waggling and horizontal steering - I just don't think that works at all. I do like that you can fail a stage and still get through if you do some chin-up's a penance. I like the fighting event at the end.. fells very An Officer and a Gentleman. 😋
You know, Combat School on the C64 is really quite a cool game. It's like Hyper Sports or Track 'n Field, but with guns. 😁 It's mostly the target-range events that I enjoy with this one. The first stage, with all the joystick waggling is fun - real hard to do with keyboard FWIW.
@JamesPond47 @rexthedogge @dantemendes @JulianoZuca Ah, licensing rights. Yeah. That can suck.
Strangely enough I was never into the real pinball tables. I just became addicted to digital pinball when I got my first Amiga (second hand) and Pinball Dreams was one of the games that came with it. I was totally hooked. 😋
@JamesPond47 @rexthedogge @dantemendes @JulianoZuca I really should try some of the modern digital pinball games out there. But I've already got so many old ones to play, I'm not sure where I'd find the time to play the new ones. 🤔 (It's like World of Warcraft - I should *not* try it, for the sake of my real life.) 😁
@dantemendes @JulianoZuca (doh!) *un*-speed-up. 😋
I will say, Pinball Dreaming and Pinball Fantasies on iOS are pretty good ports. The coders had access to the original Amiga source-code, so they got feel of it exactly right. (I was beta-testing, though I couldn't convince them to do touch-zones 4 tilt.)
