@CrazyCollector1 Oooh, and The Sentinel .. now that was a cracking good game. {loading-screen is C64 .. in-game shots from the Amiga version, which was virtually identical, but a higher resolution screen.} It's like some weird lucid nightmare where you're on a Star Trek 3D chessboard. 😁
@CrazyCollector1 That compilation could keep someone occupied for a *long* time.. "Oh look! Elite! Let me try that!".. {six months later} .. 😋
@Al82_Retro Dan Dare really felt like a perfectly comic-book-y game, if that makes any sense. Good 8-bit aardvark-ing fun. 👍
@JamesPond47 @FREEZE64UK I was pleased it didn't have the GFX glitches the v40xx version had, but then I found one at the bottom of the map.. Bugger. 😐 Though I couldn't get it to crash, which is awesome. I even got to the second level. (In this one it's Amsterdam, then London.) Almost to the third.. 👍
@JamesPond47 @FREEZE64UK Yup. An energy cheat would be good. 🤔 I used to enjoy finding cheats with the Action Replay. But that only worked well if I had a numeric value to pin on it. 😐 I tried a Dutch version De Kapriolen by Angel Spreading Service. That one works beautifully too. It's just Dutch.. 😁
@stevemassart @gamesyouloved Then there was Battle Chess II: Chinese Chess.
Again, I never got to learning how to actually play it. I just tinkered a bit, then set the Amiga as both players. 😁 But judging from the long repeating moves near the end of the game, I'm not sure the Amiga knows how to play.. 😋
@stevemassart @gamesyouloved Battle Chess certainly bumped-up people's interest in chess games when the 16-bit machines came out. I'm not sure how many of us actually bothered to learn the subtleties of playing chess as a result. It was easier to set both players as CPU-control and just watch. 😋
@sanxion @CommodoreBlog Nice set of games there. 👍
Quite a few one's I really enjoyed.. Green Beret, Way of the Tiger, Park Patrol, Suicide Express.. 😎
@TonimanGalvez @JamesPond47 @rexthedogge I'm kinda in two minds on that. The title-screen and demo music is good Martin Walker stuff. (Listen to his music -- ie: this, Walker, Hunters Moon -- on a speakers with good bass. That's what he had, and it shows.) 😁 But they make really good use of all 3 channels for SFX. 🤔
