@dantemendes @JulianoZuca Yeah, Fantasies has some great tables, but the ball felt too bouncy coz they sped-up the physics from Dreams without adjusting anything. (The devs of the iPhone port were kind enough to put in an option to up-speed-up the physics.) 😉 I like the old segment display in Dreams tho.
@rexthedogge @dantemendes @JulianoZuca I hate to say it, but the Windows version of it was darned good too. Virtually the same game, with almost no scrolling. 😮 But that was Windows 9x. 😁 Fortunately the Amiga version lives on.. virtually. 😋
@dantemendes @JulianoZuca There were a few real gems in the late Amiga line-up. It felt like Digital Illusions really had the Pinball Market sewn up, and then we got this Slam Tilt demo off of Aminet, and it just blew up away. Similarly, Shadow Fighter was a really decent beat-em up. We loved that one. 👍
@digger_c64 @rhayadercompute ..the bottom-panel is normal raster tricks so you don't have to worry about countering the scroll there. Maybe a raster-timed change in the energy-bar colour so it's only two colours? 👍 However they did it, they did it well, and certainly went to more effort than they needed to.
@digger_c64 @rhayadercompute I haven't dug through the memory looking for sprites but, if it were me, I'd be using vertically-expanded sprites for the energy bar (to mask sprites exiting the right side), and animating the characters in the right-hand panel against the scroll, so they appear stationary.. 🤔
@rhayadercompute It would have been so much easier to do the entire status display at the top or bottom of the screen. But they worked really hard on that right panel, and that made it feel a lot more like the arcade, so kudos for that. 👍 Pretty decent port really.
@UridiumAuthor Oh, and compatibility.. That was the real driver. Happily, all the Braybrook/Hewson titles I bought handled accelerated Amiga's well. 👍 But there were so so many that would glitch or stop working, until I had them HDD-installed and patched using WHDLoad. That was Amiga life. 😎
@UridiumAuthor It loads ADF + CAPS images. 😁 I have, for example, Fire and Ice, and Uridium 2 disks and manuals in boxes in the garage somewhere. But used WHDLoad to HD-install them long ago on the A4000. 👍 I had an A500 for too long. I don't miss the slowness of floppies and disk-swapping 💾
@StuOvine @ScubaChris72 Looks awesome. 👍
It would be nice to have Kung Fu Master with a bit of a graphic refresh. (And possibly less-cruel gameplay.) 😁
Minor suggestion: I feel like the foot, and possibly the fist, need come forward a little more when punching/kicking.
But feel free to ignore that. 😋
@MarkRJones1970 I remember being really unimpressed when I saw Arkanoid in the arcades for the first time. I was all like "but, this is just breakout all blinged-up. It's a type-in game I've been playing and re-playing since the Vic-20!" But I've grown to love its cruel gameplay mechanics. 😁
