@C64TimeLine World Class was certainly the best version as far as realism was concerned. We now had real-world golf courses on our humble C64. 😮 It doesn't get any better than that right? It's definitely the logical evolution of the game. And it's still solid. I just prefer the first one. 😁
@C64TimeLine At the time the Executive Edition came out, it seemed like all sorts of nice things had been put in. It definitely added to the realism. But, now that I come back to them, I think the continual tension of green-islands surrounded by water make for a great computer-game-golf. 👍
@C64TimeLine After re-playing all the Leaderboard games recently, I kinda think the first one was the best implementation. The way everything was surrounded by water really amped up the tension. If you mess up a shot you're not just in the rough. You have to take the whole shot over again. 😮
@JamesPond47 @C64TimeLine 10th Frame was the same guys. Really nice execution of the whole bowling mechanic. 👍 No extra animation or sound stuff to ham it up, like an arcade game would do.. pure bowling, well implemented. 😎
@000Angus000 F-15 Strike Eagle II was a really stunning early Amiga flight sim. But I think it took too many cues from its C64 predecessor in making things 'simple'. 🤔 They'd created a good flight world, but the controls felt wrong: like there was no inertia or gravity. 😐 Nice loading pic.
@SalvaCostanzo @TonyWilson72 @RetroGamerDaz @gamesyouloved @Indie_RetroNEWS @EverythingC64 @C64TimeLine @C64Reloaded @C_64 I love that the 8-bit era was a time when one guy could have a great game idea, and do the whole thing themselves. Sometimes you can tell that the sound or graphics weren't high on the list. But Impossible Mission did them all so well. The graphics are simple, but look *so* good.
@000Angus000 @SalvaCostanzo @RetroGamerDaz @gamesyouloved @Indie_RetroNEWS @EverythingC64 @C64TimeLine @C64Reloaded @C_64 There was something really cool and stylish about Impossible Mission. (I've been watching those Tom Cruise movies too much.. I was looking for my screenshots, but looking for Mission: Impossible.) 😋 It was a well honed platformer with excellent unpredictable robots to avoid. 😁
@JamesPond47 @Lord_Arse The Laserdisc games were just cruel, expensive, and I wasn't going to let them take my money so quickly .. except for Space Ace. I did have a brief addiction to Space Ace. (Very brief.) ..Then I'd go back to awesome stuff like Rygar, where I had more direct control of the player.
