@Worrior110 International Karate came onto the scene surprisingly quickly, and IMHO did somewhat take the wind out of the sails of Exploding Fist. The animation of IK was smoother, there was a Hubbard soundtrack and it was slick as only an Archer Maclean game could be. But they're both good.

@Worrior110 Exploding Fist was the first game that gave C64 owners a decent version of Karate Champ at the arcades. (I was really addicted to the arcade game, so I was super happy to be able to get hold of this.) 😁 And while it was the only kid on the block, Fist truly did reign supreme. 👍

@C64Reloaded I'll always have a soft spot for Staff of Karnath, beause it was one of the early games I had on the C64. 🕹️ Looking at it with older eyes, there are some things I think could be done differently. But it's still fun, and remains one of the better games in the Pendragon series. 👍

C64 Spy Hunter is still good. But the rapid-fire of the machine-gun in the original, the separate buttons for missile/oil/smoke, and the fast pace it has.. I really want to work out how to play the arcade game properly now. 😄 (And did you hear that full music in the YouTube?) 😮

@_LaineyMaree In general I love racing games, but Wave Race on the N64 took it to a whole new level for me. I mean it's a racing game where the track *moves*! 😮 This adds a level of complexity to the races which I just love. 😁 And the announcer guy has just the right level of cheeseyness. 😋

@adrian_momodem1 @SarahJaneAvory You're right. Man, that guy did a lot of amazing games. I was also heavily addicted to his formula 3 racing game, Revs. Even got a pair of paddles so I could do the steering properly. That game taught me to drive. Then Stunt Car Racer taught me how to crash. 😋 Then Amiga F1GP..

@adrian_momodem1 @SarahJaneAvory I don't have C64 screenshots of that one yet. I must fix that. 😁 Though I do have a pic of the eye on the loading screen. The pics in the previous tweet are the Amiga one, which looks exactly the same, but with higher res graphics and faster frame rate.

@adrian_momodem1 @SarahJaneAvory This is where the similar naming gets in the way. I think you must be talking about The Sentinel, which is equally awesome, but entirely different. 😁 The Sentinel was that 3D Chessboard looking game where you'd absorb trees, get to higher levels, and try to take the sentinel. 👍

@SarahJaneAvory So I read the article, and I'm getting vibes of Elite, Empire (did you ever see that? Kinda of a 2d Elite with an old-timey Flash Gordon vibe), and a dash of Sentinel. 😎

Yeah, that could be a fun direction to go in.. But don't forget Briley Witch! 😉

@Worrior110 It would have been so transformative to have something like that back in the C64 days. Being able to load huge multi-load games like Defender of the Crown, and The Last Ninja. 😮 Just think of the huge games developers could have made. 😁
