@SarahJaneAvory @mbosschaart Side-note:
I was relatively new to the Amiga when I got Thunderhawk. (I think I still had my Kickstart 1.2 Amiga500.) I loved the intro. The mission-briefings were especially good, with top-notch presentation. And I love flying backwards and seeing the flares I'd just dropped 😁
@FloppyDeepDive I thought the barbarians looked a little 'odd' compared to other C64 fighting games, but I couldn't quite put my finger on why. Not until Zzap!64 pointed out that you could connect the pins at the back to try to reset, and the figures would stay frozen on screen. Ah! Not sprites!
@FloppyDeepDive Barbarian got a lot of publicity as "that game where you can cut someone's head off." And rightly so, because it was an excellent fighting game, of which the highlight was the possibility of cutting their head off, and getting that excellent spurt of blood as the head falls. 😁👍
@atari_st_fan Which is funny because, after having played the sequel for so long, I find it hard to go back to the original Lemmings. It's roughness around the edges, as they were trying to find out good level designs.. It's a big part of its charm, but I find it a little jarring. 🤔
