Retrogaming of the 8 and 16 bit variety. That's my jam. 😎

I really must try the arcade game again.
(With proper cartoon animation.)

I've seen plenty of the Amiga verison recently and, while it's pretty, every scene feels a little truncated, no doubt to fit everything on less than a million disks. 💾

Note: At the time my main focus wasn't on all the cool things the Amiga could do. I had Ultima V on the C64, and really wanted to play it with faster loading and with *music*! (Love that SID) 🥰 So the C128 was the obvious thing to get, at the time. 😁

Technically quite a good game..
Puzzling, because it has a Galway soundtrack that I don't like at all. (Was he copying the arcade jingles?)
Good use of sprites in the border.. and hard in a the usual 8-bit way: you can get far, but you have to practice for weeks to do it. 🤓

Mmmm... F-15 Strike Eagle
I just liked it on the Amiga for it's impressive overscan loading image. 😎

🤔 You're dead right. It's a waste of a license. I had no clue it was a licensed game until recently. So many years that I never even viewed it through that lens. 😄 Most licensed games of this era were simply crap. We were grateful just to have a game that, well.. wasn't crap 😋

On that point, I'll be real interested in how conflicted you guys will be when you get to the June '87 Zzap. That one has Nemesis the Warlock. A stonking good game, but a complete waste of a license. It's just a slash-em-up platformer. But has nice 2000AD-level violence going on.

I one thing I enjoyed about it was that it was one of the few martial-arts games I'd played that actually had any chopping moves. I also loved that I found a bug I could consistently trigger: get behind the ninja, and do a chop to the neck. He totally glitches-out for a sec. 😁

They did go to all the trouble of making multi-colour C64 sprites for the unarmed section. So I'm wondering if they made a judgement call for the pole and sword and decided those objects looked better at steep vertical angles in high res. 🤷‍♂️ Or maybe they just ran out of time. 😋

Today's awesome 8-bit game, designed from the ground up to only work well on the one computer (C64) that can render dirt properly.. Has to be International Karate, right? 😁 We already thought Fist was awesome the year before. Then this comes out and it's awesome × two + good.👍
