What kinds of landscapes make you feel calm? Lately I've been drawn to art that evokes a sense of calm, particularly given the stressful times we are living through. This piece was inspired by twilight at the seashore and pearlescent shells, both things I find soothing.

When you need an escape, what do you do? I've been thinking about the role of escape during difficult situations. As an artist, I feel like I can't contribute much to the unfolding crisis; the best I can give is something that affords a momentary reprieve.
