The concept for Tower of Dreams emerged from an open-ended process of discovery drawing. Most of my pieces develop from a spontaneously created network of lines and marks in which I subsequently 'find' the concept for a piece.
What do you see in this piece?
Unfurling Twilight, as well as nineteen other pieces, will be available as signed, archival prints through my upcoming Kickstarter campaign, The Else Lands: Fine Art Prints, launching May 5 and running through May 19!
It's happening! I'm launching a Kickstarter for prints from my series The Else Lands! If you're interested, check out the pre-launch page! https://t.co/yEOiPv0ldn
Waters of Creation is still one of my favorite pieces I've ever made. I need to do something with a really bold palette again soon. I'd like to bring the Cthulhu-esque tentacles back, too. Maybe it's time to make some sequels to some of my works...
When or where do you feel most inspired? I drew the sketch for this piece while on vacation to Acadia National Park in Maine. I felt so relaxed and creatively liberated throughout the entire trip. This piece represents some creative breakthroughs that were made possible by it.
Even after painting for the past five years, it's still only 10% making brushmarks and 90% having no idea what to do next.
Detail of a WIP.
