@f33lthesun @Mat_at_Brookes @KarlDuke8 @philipreeve1 @PaulWat5 Love that series of books.
@f33lthesun @KarlDuke8 @Mat_at_Brookes @philipreeve1 @PaulWat5 I’ve got two, which I absolutely adored. Vango I believe was your fault @Mat_at_Brookes. The Beast Player I blame @f33lthesun
@Xris32 @porliniers For truly cautionary and more than a little Macabre…there is this. However, some content is now quite dubious. Apparently this was for kids.
@Xris32 @porliniers What there is… is a great little bedtime story, Spider a fly is beautifully gothic by design. Gary crew Caleb is Kafkaesque and Eilean Mor is a great ghost story
@rumena_aktar @rcharlesworth @Mat_at_Brookes @FatimaBurki @jonnybid @Teacherglitter @KSunray3 @KarlDuke8 @PaulWat5 @nikkigamble @erinlynhamilton @smerchant13 @sam_creighton @one_to_read @EmpathyLabUK @dsantat and @bottomshelfbks are one of my absolute favourite picturebook teams
Love it when a book takes me by surprise. I love Pablo Neruda’s poetry, but I didn’t expect this selection of questions from his last work to be so full of wonder. His “Book of Questions” is thoughtful, quirky and stunningly illustrated by @palomavaldivia #PicturebookPage
@angryaubergine @RuddickRichard @jonnybid @KarlDuke8 @Mat_at_Brookes I’m also a huge fan of Matt Ottley who has a similar tone to his work and is an extraordinary illustrator.
@angryaubergine @RuddickRichard @jonnybid @KarlDuke8 @Mat_at_Brookes David Weisner has a similar sense of wonder and playfulness…equally extraordinary illustrations.
“Alone Like Me” by @RebeccaEvansArt is a beautiful story of how others can make our lives better. It’s a story of relocation, loneliness and finally friendship. The art is beautifully realised and slowly lights up as the world does. A story full of hope. #PicturebookPage
