But Spinosaurs are the one group that I’m convinced may have shed their fuzz almost entirely. Their bone-centric display structures and aquatic lifestyles didn’t really have room for any wispy simple filaments that may have gotten in the way of their obvious hydrodynamism.

Then there’s the terrestrial Carnosaurs. Including Megalosaurs based on Rauhut et. al 2019. This is where I get a little more liberal as we climb closer to the Coelurosaur branch on this tree.

Some Ceratosaurs like the type genus, Ceratosaurus were already very flamboyant creatures without any feathering. So I’ve decided to generally limit it for this guy and let the horns do the talking.

Ceratosaurs are often touted as ‘the scaly Theropods’ given their primitive heritage and evidence of scales, feature scales and osteoderms. However, given the likelihood that early Dinosaurs had them (mostly in arid climates), it shouldn’t be ruled out that they were all shed.
