Introduced to me by , Gary Crew is an Australian writer who creates unsettling picturebook masterpieces, all with very dark and twisted endings. Eilean Mor, illustrated by Jeremy Geddes, is a gothic, lighthouse story. Readable to the right Y6 class. 1/5

After 4 years of on/off again searching, I finally managed to track down a copy of this elusive book. It’s a beauty. Crew’s writing is a masterclass in suspense; Geddes’ almost photoreal images, haunting. 👌🏼
