As much as I enjoy the 2nd edition of one of its biggest weaknesses is enemy scaling. The basic critters and mooks are a joke to almost any character that starts its 2nd career. 4th edition did that stuff a lot better, even if it requires more work.

I need to start writing two campaigns simultaneously, and it's kinda stressing me out. The Araby campaign I mostly have in my head, so it won't present too much of a problem. The monstrous (pun intended) Hunter: The Reckoning chronicle is something different...

We wanted to return to "The Enemy Within", but as it turns out, it's been put on an indefinite hiatus...

I am seriously thinking about introducing certain 4th edition elements in my 2nd edition games. I love the Resolve mechanic, as well as Downtime. I also enjoy the fact that daemons are finally a force to be reckoned with! What do you think , ?

Tommorow on "The Thousand Thrones"... Hungry, thirsty, dead-tired and weaponless, the party are travelling towards Wurtbad, the capital of Stirland. In the middle of the forest a wild bear appears... and it's not friendly!

Today we'll almost certainly be finishing the 4th edition's "Rough nights..." adventure. Third time I am GMing this and I can never get enough of it. The plot and various encounters with the plethora of fascinating NPCs, are simply outstanding. Can't wait for more!

From the Death on the Reik Companion - Hortensia Puddlefoot,
It may not be the most action-packed scene, but I really dig how this one turned out.

Got 3 days coming this week. "Rough night..." for 4th edition, the finale (hopefully) for "Hermetic Order..." for 7th edition and, finally, the continuation of chapter 7 of "The Thousand Thrones" for 2nd edition WFRP. Can't wait!

One of my favorite scenes from "Death on the Reik". Mind you, my party has a re-purposed Imperial Navy patrol boat at their disposal, and are working for His Majesty's intelligence service, but still - this particular moment in the campaign was tense...

Art Influences

Another influence on Paul Bonner: the Finnish artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela, particularly known for his images of the Kalevala.

...The discussion soon evolved into a civil and polite debate about modifying the setting to fit one's world view/preferences. I know that a lot of GMs do this kind of thing. Personally I don't get it. I love Warhammer because it's such a rich and diverse universe,...

How different is from I don't know any WFRP GM who'd put 21 lesser demons in an adventure as a warm up.

Incendiary, a tiny spot painting. This was an old old piece, originally sketched for the Core Book, painted maybe a few months later, and finally finding a home in Death on the Reik.

More - Attack. Or, 'Headache'. Is that ship approaching a further danger to these battered mutants, or is it all an axe-inspired hallucination of the beaked chap?
