by definition, "stylized cloth" can mean a billion different things, but if you want good 2D art ref, Leyendecker's art is primo. But yeah, ref is good. I hope this helps you out Jay! It certainly isn't a GDC talk, but if it can serve as a stepping stone for you I'll be happy.

The bulk is there but David Production used a very angular artstyle. JoJo 2012 muscles include sharp edges mixed with curves. The shadows are also stylized to have unrealistic straight lines despite the bright light source from Hamon. Last pic has natural looking shadows.
