Personally, I adore it’s wide cast of endearing characters and the stories they create with them. When they take real life locomotives and realistic railway scenarios, put a little bit of whimsical writing into it, and tell it with amazing visuals, they make magic.

Gainax's "Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi" has a lot of heart wrapped inside absurd and hilarious adventures. Worth a watch but too bad for the changing art styles between episodes. The first three episodes have the best visuals, while the 'Evangelion-styled' ones are ugly.
