I use Sai, so I tend to collapse a lot of layers or folder them. For a piece like <<this>> I used about 20 layers, shaders, hilights, screens, masks, filers, colours, lines, and the like. Not to mention I need those filers and colours for background, foreground, and focus point.

You are basically listing off my primary inspirations! I had to learn how to write shaders for the lighting because no modern engine does lighting like that anymore. Everything you see while flying uses custom shaders.
