i successfully ported my #webgpu metaballs to use compute shaders
the metaballs animation and the marching cubes isosurface extraction happen entirely on the GPU, leaving the CPU to be almost completely idle
Here's some parametric metaballs explorations driven by curves with #sverchok. This is so much fun. Anyone got tips or ideas I could explore based on this system?

got a practice run in on daily blender sculpting
about 3 hours in blender, metaballs then sculpting then a blundering attempt at texturing with mostly voronoi noise... did not turn out so good but oh well I will improve

used metaballs to quickly block out softer organics of spider oak parasite. & for like 5 years i was calling it "meatballs"
So tonight I learned what Metaballs are and how to use them in blender to make stuff like hands, and HOO BOY my dudes is that a game changer!! It's ridiculous how much fun that is to play with, and I think his lil mitts came out pretty good for a first try!
I should really write a more detailed making-of at some point (as much as still possible), everything was procedural: randomized sequence sync'd to queue points, poetry generator, flocking, metaballs, voxels, procedural type. all done over the spring/summer of 2002...
