Late posting for the January #BirdWhisperer prompt is my sketch of the Eurasian jay (Garrulus glandarius). This member of the crow family will imitate the vocalizations of birds of prey such as mewing like a common buzzard and cackling like a northern goshawk.
Our Snow White Cichlid (Pseudotropeus Socolofi) for #SundayFishSketch. This red-eyed lady broods her young in her mouth from eggs till small fry. Fits #fishytheme of “white fish.” Named Q-Tip because she is white and was not much larger than the tip of a Q-tip when we got her.
Left-handed (my non-dominant hand) drawing for today’s #birdwhisperer project prompt of a Bluejay. They are the bullies of the bird feeders at our house.
Decided to have some holiday spirit fun with Day 3 attempt of left-handed (my non-dominant hand) drawing working up to the #birdwhisperer project prompt for December 28 of a Bluejay.
Day 2 attempt of left-handed (my non-dominant hand) drawing working up to the #birdwhisperer project prompt for December 28 of a Bluejay. Focused on the close-up of the head. Can feel a shift in my brain and some improvement in fine-motor skills.
Saw my first Carolina Wren at the end of fall. Learned they don't migrate like typical birds. Their range expands & those that end up in Michigan during years of mild winters end up dying in a bitter cold snap. It was the saddest thing I learned in a long time. #BirdWhisperer
The eel-tailed catfish (Tandanus tandanus), also known as dewfish, freshwater catfish, jewfish, and tandan, is native to the Murray-Darling river system of eastern Australia. The scientific name comes from “Tandan,” an Aboriginal Australian name for the fish.
Armadillo was the Day 15 word prompt for #Inktober, so if I wanted to get myself “Inked with Armadillo art”, maybe this is what it might look like. @inktober #inktober2022
I feel I am constantly "Yielding" for Whitetail Deer driving here in Michigan. They love nothing more than to randomly leap across the roads. #SciArtSeptember
For the September #BirdWhisperer photo prompt of a Pine Warbler. I changed the perch to a Norway Spruce, a tree introduced to North America from central and Northern Europe.
