Late posting for the January prompt is my sketch of the Eurasian jay (Garrulus glandarius). This member of the crow family will imitate the vocalizations of birds of prey such as mewing like a common buzzard and cackling like a northern goshawk.

Our Snow White Cichlid (Pseudotropeus Socolofi) for This red-eyed lady broods her young in her mouth from eggs till small fry. Fits of “white fish.” Named Q-Tip because she is white and was not much larger than the tip of a Q-tip when we got her.

Saw my first Carolina Wren at the end of fall. Learned they don't migrate like typical birds. Their range expands & those that end up in Michigan during years of mild winters end up dying in a bitter cold snap. It was the saddest thing I learned in a long time.

I feel I am constantly "Yielding" for Whitetail Deer driving here in Michigan. They love nothing more than to randomly leap across the roads.
