A Coal Grunter about to dine on prawn for #SundayFishSketch #Fishytheme feat. a fish & their invertebrate prey. They’re predatory fish & particularly dig prawns. It was suggested a while back to draw this Australian freshwater fish by a fan of my art. #InverteFest @NiloSinnatamby
Early naturalists like Edward Forbush had a gift for description and in 1929 called the Chipping Sparrow “the little brown-capped pensioner of the dooryard and lawn, that comes about farmhouse doors to glean crumbs shaken from the tablecloth by thrifty housewives.”
#SuperBowl of the aquarium for #SundayFishSketch…The German Blue Ram Cichlid (Mikrogeophagus Ramirezi) vs. the “Bengal” Tiger Barb (Puntigrus pentazona). Love the #FishyTheme challenging prompt @Lampichthys to sketch 2 fish species I’d like to see battle in the 2022 #FISHBOWL.
May your day be Merry and Bright...like how seeing treefrogs make me feel. Happy Holidays!
Something playful for the Holiday Season. A cartoon drawing featuring the Northern Cardinal in a scarf on a snowy holly branch.
A Chestnut-backed Chickadee. This bird is found along the North American Pacific Coast, in both the dense coniferous and mixed coniferous forests as well as among the suburban shrubs an trees.
Deep sea dragonfish for #SundayFishSketch Halloween theme. Deep sea dweller, produces light by bioluminescence. Creepy & scary looking, haunts the eternal night of the deepest depths. Any creature getting to near it could “Risk” becoming a meal. #Inktober day 31 prompt of “risk”.
Did not feel like serious drawing so here I am introducing my new recent visitor to my nightmares, “Wormfood the Clown.” Felt wrong in some way to not share it for everyone’s enjoyment.
