it's also apparently #pixelartday and i've got quite a few new followers, so hi all! I'm doing authentic new NES graphics & games, on a mission to try to surpass expectations of what NES games can look like. Sometimes i coop with programmers, but i'm also writing code on my own.

Actually working implementation of the farmstead/foresters' lodge. The missing moon may or may not get used along with some sprite layer highlights in that case. We'll see!

I haven't yet decided on where exactly in the games' story this place should come but i've at least decided it wouldn't be complete without an outhouse. 💩 (2 rough mockups of mashing together tileset halves, and the actual house tileset in the 3rd)

Practicing new NES BG techniques.
This combines 3-colour cycling with screenswitching to a total of 6 frames, to make it possible to move longer distances and be a bit more lively - while not taxing the CPU.
It sacrifices scrolling in at least one direction.
