The Amazing Spider-Man (2018)
The Black Cat is back and needs Spider-Man’s help. I like Nick Spencer’s take on Felicia/Peter and this entire Heist story arc so far. Art by Humberto Ramos and Michele Bandini. 3.5/5

Thor (2018)
Young Thor spends too much time in Midgard for Odin’s liking. Writer Jason Aaron does masterful work in a singular tale of Thor, Odin and Loki. Tony Moore’s fantastic meticulous style is perfect for this tale. 5/5

Captain America (2018)
Cap rescues Sharon and uncovers a new plot against America. Writer Ta-Nehisi Coates has been slowly building the greater threat and finally reveals its tip here. Leinil Francis Yu is ever the consummate pro. 4/5

Return of Wolverine (2018)
Wolverine attempts a rescue. Writer Charles Soule minimizes the narrative, allowing the dialogue and Declan Shalvey’s perfectly laid-out cinematic art to set the pace of this thriller. 5/5

B.P.R.D. The Devil You Know
Hellboy...ends. From the stark cover image, to the final thirteen pages, creator Mike Mignola’s fingerprints are all over this magnificently macabre final issue! Writer Scott Allie, artist Laurence Campbell & colorist Dave Stewart do him proud. 5/5

The Unstoppable Wasp (2018)
The Agents of G.I.R.L take on A.I.M. Writer Jeremy Whitley returns with his super-positive team and on surprisingly more serious tone. Gurihiru’s art is a bit more Manga-inspired than I prefer, but nicely energetic. 4/5

Infinity Wars (2018)
A team of heroes is assembled to wield the Infinity Stone. Writer Gerry Duggan enigmatic plot matters not when wrapped up in so much wondrous weirdness, dynamically delineated by Mike Deodato Jr. 4/5

Lightstep
Jazzman explains his secret past to his assassins. Writer Milos Slavkovic and writer/artist Mirko Topalski reveal some nifty plot twists that explains quite a lot of some of the more mystifying elements of this series. The art is stunning as always. 4.5/5

Immortal Hulk (2018)
Can even the Mighty Avengers stop the Imortal Hulk? Writer Al Ewing communicates the true devastation of a super-slugfest. Artists Joe Bennett, Rudy José and Paul Mounts combined talents really visualize the repercussions of the visceral violence. 5/5

Captain America (2018)
Cap fights his way through his deadliest foe to Sharon. A surprisingly straight-forward all-out action issue from writer Ta-Nehisi Coates, which plays to artist Leinil Francis Yu’s strengths. 3/5
