Marvel 2-in-One (2017)
Teamwork defeats the fraudulent four. Writer Chip Zdarsky’s current arc sputters to an end. Ramon Pérez’ uninspired art doesn’t help. 2/5

Domino Annual (2018)
Five fun Domino stories by writers/artists by Simone/Ibáñez, Nicieza/Gedeon, Hopless/Kirk, Williams/Bustos and Williams/Shelfer. My favorites being “Dead Drunk in Dry Gulch” and “Saturdays are for the Body Count!” 4/5

That entire 11 issues Elektra series was visionary and inspired! Sometimes writer Haden Blackman’s script got a little too heady, but Michael Del Mundo’s experimental painterly art made reading it a surreal delight! Even the two fill-in issues by artist Alex Sanchez were good.

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl (2015)
Squirrel Girl faces a unique challenge. The normally verbose writer Ryan North executes a “silent issue” with his usual panache. Artist Derek Charm is more than up to the challenge; with help from colorist Rico Renzi & Madeline McGrane. 4/5

Infinity Wars (2018)
Requiem recreates reality. Writer Gerry Duggan’s spin on Starlin’s classic delicately hovers over the precipice of imitation and neatly lands on reimagining. Artist Mike Deodato Jr. is brilliantly illustrating near-unimaginable imagery. 4.5/5

Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man (2017)
Sandman returns from the dead? Writer Chip Zdarsky goes all Zen on Sandman, introducing some wild concepts, while artist Chris Bachalo keeps it lively with some inventive sandy imagery. 3/5

Batman '66 Meets Wonder Woman '77 TP
Writers Marc Andreyko and Jeff Parker use a clever narrative device, telling three stories in three different timelines: the 40s, 60s & 70s, in which everyone but Wonder Woman ages. Penciler Karl Kesel and inker David Hahn do fine work. 4.5/5

Ms. Marvel (2015)
Kam’s powers’ acting up won’t keep her from stoping the Shocker. G. Willow Wilson’s gift for scripting physical humor is highlighted and accentuated by Nico Leon’s exuberantly buoyant art! 4/5

Marvel 2-in-One (2017)
Ben and Johnny are being hunted by... the Fantastic Four? Chip Zdarsky has had a great run, but this multiverse arc seems to have run its course. Ramon Perez’ art just looks rushed. 2/5

X-23 (2018)
Laura races to the rescue of Gabby who’s been kidnapped by the psychic Cuckoos! Writer Mariko Tamaki’s take on the bond between Laura and Gabby is spot on. Juann Cabal does an amazing job visualizing the frantic chases. I just wish the issue was longer! 4.5/5
