Gives me an excuse to splash some of Giger’s captivating concept design/art over my tweeter feed.

Nobody did it better than the original master.

James Whale trending on twitter?! How cool. It’s great that this old school Hollywood legend is being rediscovered. Did you know that he was…

…Oh, it’s ‘that’ James Whale.

When I was in London I was shown Dave McKean’s beautiful new book “Raptor” which looks amazing. Definitely want to pick this one up when I get the chance.
I couldn’t find too many images of the pages online but trust me when I say it looked breathtakingly good.

1. When people get annoyed that politics or the social issues of the day (overt or subtle) plays an important part in science fiction or horror.

Some people seem to want to believe that politics/social issues in sci-if/horror is a recent ‘woke’ agenda or a new phenomena.

The film also sports top notch Dante Ferretti production design and a gorgeous eclectic score by Michael Kamen (his best).
Not to mention the best Angel of Death committed to screen that meets its match in young plucky Sally Salt as played by then child-actor Sarah Polley.

Every once in a while I have to rewatch Terry Gilliam’s wonderful “Adventures of Baron Munchausen.”
Perhaps my most rewatched of Gilliam’s films (nudging out the equally wonderful “Time Bandits”), it’s the perfect encapsulation of Gilliam’s themes of imagination versus cynicism.

So, “ALIEN Covenant” was released this day some years ago. The series that couldn’t quite decide what it wanted to be.

For the record, I quite like all the David stuff but not so much the attempts to tie it to ALIEN.

However, would you like to see the series finally concluded?

A few more cropped panels from the book added to this thread that I had previously previewed here.
This book will probably be crowd funded due to difficulties selling the previous incarnation of the book to publishers (which always bashes my confidence).

Thanks for looking. J

But gawd do I love making books! Genuinely love the creative process and bouncing ideas and scripts around with other people.

But yes... the coast and the sea... always stirs the imagination. :)

But then I remember that I can no longer afford to write and illustrate a 170 page full colour graphic novel series without a salary/page rate and have to rely on royalties. Once I finish my current B&W book it’s doubtful I’ll make anything as ambitious and costly again.
