At first the manga doesn’t specify the length of time time between the Cell Games and Buu arc, but eventually it’s pegged as seven years. The anime says this right from the start at the end of DBZ ep.199 (but the opening narration for ep.200 is as vague as the manga)
Vegeta’s line here literally means to treat someone tenderly, but in battle manga and the like is often sarcastically used to mean the exact opposite. A parody of this usage appeared in the Namek arc, with Jeice over-explaining the joke
@changeyotune It’s referring to his buff and buffer Grade II and III forms. For Super Saiyan 2 the book only lists Gohan/Goku/Vegeta/Gotenks, and for Super Saiyan 3 only Goku/Gotenks
Undeterred, he keeps up his training under Kaio’s supervision, and eventually acquires the same souped-up Super Saiyan form Gohan used to beat Cell. And then one day, he achieves a form beyond even that. What to call these forms? Let’s keep it simple.
Meanwhile, Goku continues training in the afterlife. During these seven years, he meets a couple of nice chaps from the Planet Metamor, who show him a fab new dance. Sadly, Goku can’t find any decent dancing partners in the next world.
And of course it’s not just Goten: kid Trunks can go Super like a pro. Why, it’s a veritable Super Saiyan bargain sale, as Vegeta says in one of his weirder moments. Per Toriyama, Vegeta probably learned the term “bargain sale” from watching Earth TV. https://t.co/uFPEVVawiU
The exact timing of Goten’s first Super Saiyan transformation is unspecified, since Goten himself can’t remember. The flashback in DBZ ep.206 is when Chi Chi learns he can go Super Saiyan, and not his first transformation, so that doesn’t help narrow it down.
Now that his fighting days are behind him (for now anyhow), Kuririn lets his hair grow out. Shaving his head was part of his martial arts practice (inspired by real world Shaolin monks), a fact he mentions to Goku when they first meet. Not that Goku remembers…
