The next chapter is in three week, on August 23rd. Also, I’ll finally finish off the Gold Mask arc recap later today. Really, I promise.
@Esper0506 He says that going only by battle power (戦闘力, the same term used for scouter-style power levels) Jiren is above even the God of Destruction Belmod (the “going only by battle power” part is possibly a reference to how Jiren can’t use destruction techniques)
Thus, Mister Satan becomes (even more) famous as the hero who saved the Earth from Cell, while people only vaguely remember the weird group of also-rans who were there too. Didn’t their hair change color or something…?
But getting back to in-universe concerns, Daizenshuu 6 places DBZ Movie 6 as happening approximately between Cell’s broadcast and the Cell Games, based on Dende-as-god, Goku’s logo-free dōgi, and Vegeta going Super Saiyan.
The usual take on the pre-Cell Games explanation is that Dende’s DBs will always grant two wishes, never more. By the Buu arc though, it seems they normally grant three, but reviving large groups lowers this to two. A retcon, or did Toriyama explain it poorly in the Cell arc?
It is however true that for Cell’s broadcast, Viz says the 17th but leaves the M part out for whatever reason. Simmon’s Funi subs do this too (and say “the 21st” to boot, as mentioned above). I trust that you’re keeping track of all this.
To explain this fairly minor inconsistency brought about by 17 speaking lines originally written with Lunch in mind, Super introduces the idea that 17 was conscious while inside Cell and heard Goku’s voice that way (18 in contrast seems to have slept through the Cell Games)
As you may recall, Toriyama originally planned to include Lunch in the big Buu arc energy donation scene, before swapping her out for 17 (though the anime included Lunch anyway). Thus, 17 recognizes Goku’s voice despite the two never meeting onscreen. https://t.co/OIqaR21WVr
