In the manga, Kill-Vearn says Hadlar’s technique has the same force as the magic sword (the spell+sword combo Dai first uses against Hyunckel). This reference was perhaps seen as too much of a deep cut (so to speak), so in the anime he just says that it magnifies Hadlar’s power

Apart from the similar horns, this seems like a real stretch. Do you suppose Hadlar specifically requested not to have the green fur or stomach mouth?

As mentioned yesterday, the next History of Ever entry will be on Tuesday. From here on out I’ll alternate between three and four entries per week (usually three), with an estimated end date of early December. #HistoryofEver

@DuckRogers24 We don’t get the details, but we can probably assume he was off training or something

@DrJamezSavage Yeah, it’s at the start of the manga version of the ToP (in the anime I believe he just says he was absent for Goten’s birth)

Then in Toriyama’s interview in the first issue of Viz’s Shonen Jump, he said that Saiyan tails seem to be a “recessive gene trait”…which would mean Gohan shouldn’t have had one either, right? https://t.co/CSsGsEltDf

Hell comes in many forms throughout DB. In the original manga, it’s never seen but is said to be beneath Snake Way. DBZ ep.13 shows Goku fall down there, and we’re told this episode was “full of Toriyama’s ideas”, although we don’t get specifics.

Looks like this volume completes the set for Kaioshin table of contents

(Surprisingly though, it’s not used in either Piccolo getting Cell to spill the beans or the DBS manga’s remake of that scene)

And that’s the secret of Akuma Shogun’s origin! Sort of. In fact, the exact relationship between Shogun, Satan, and Gold Man varies even more wildly than most Kinnikuman backstory, although the revival series goes with the notion that Satan possessed Gold Man
