really loved the soft blue hues of this opening dream sequence.
Episode 18 was helmed by a name i don't think i've ever heard of: Shoji Yabushita (藪下昌二). Just based on the sparse nature of their overall credits, i almost wanted to call that a Pen Name.
Mariko Fujita (藤田まり子) Might be one of my favorite frequent AD's on CCS so far. She has by far one of the cutest takes on Sakura out of anyone on the staff rotation!
Kanbe's partner in crime, Makoto Koga (古賀誠) is in top form as always! We get an excellent and well-rounded look at Koga's skill set this time around, from their tactile posing, looser drawings, and softer facial features.
Something i love about Kanbe is how much attention he pays to lighting. He understands that it helps create not only a sense of place, but creates a sense of tone for each scene, it helps pull us into the moment.
This episode also gives us another iconic piece of CCS fashion: one that belonged to Sakura's mother.
it's Kanbe & Koga time again! CCS's strongest unit is back to once again flex, which ofc means lots of beautiful Blob Hands! 😊
All around a very strong episode! Kitao's efforts as AD (and ED as well actually, an odd split), far outrank his work on ep4! the art is polished, expressive, and even delightfully loose in places
I'm curious if everything from the start of Akane's freefall till the aftermath is all the same artist.
The sense of volume here is really well realized!
