@KlausFluggePr @LillingtonJoe has always enjoyed making stories and began by creating little comics. These explorations may have been inspired by or certainly complemented by Tolkien’s illustrations in #TheHobbit & Goscinny & Uderzo's Asterix (2/7)
Many illustrators inspire Tan. This is verbatim from @fhordon1 blog (see below):
‘Lisbeth Zwerger and Miniji Kim for their technical brilliance’, Isabelle Arsenault for her colour palette’ & ‘Chris Riddell for his characterisations and the expressions on his characters’ (5/6)
@Joshuadenton @_Reading_Rocks_ @PrimarySchoolBC All of these would work well with your guidance, Josh. Why not see which ones appeal to you
@natsmillie Have you ever read Shirley Hughes' 'Alfie' collection - some lovely examples of children interacting with each other (not being kind and then seeing the effect it has). Alfie gives a hand does this nicely. (1)
@sam_creighton @smerchant13 @erinlynhamilton @one_to_read @AmandaMurkett @RuddickRichard @rcharlesworth There's an opening for an interpretation of a diminishing return on p19 too. When is this one? We should discuss these patterns on Tuesday. Both your observations and interpretations are interesting and can be applied to p19 as well.
@sophieinspace @welfordtim @MrHtheteacher @whatSFSaid @JenniferKillick @vashti_hardy @JHaddell @OnjaliRauf @therroneill @nealzetterpoet @dom_conlon @CJBentleyAuthor @HSNorup @Juliepike @RashmiWriting @mossmontmomery @anthony_mcgowan @balirai @ThomasHTaylor @Struan_Murray @JennyMcLachlan1 @kmlarwood @MGLnrd @MeggittPhillips @Kiran_MH @authorfy @GMcCaughrean @brixtonbard Fab choices, Sophie & ones that'll lead to discussions about whether books 'are' for children or not. I think 'children's literature' and 'youth literature' often get bundled together. Okay, so 4 books that are often associated with a 'younger' audience that an adult would enjoy
@Misterbodd @Kwia35 @RuddickRichard @kaymlay I'd happily leave that to @RuddickRichard and @RebeccaLucas (whose daughter has been reading graphic novels for years). Here are some of mine though:
@helenhancocks @Alibrarylady @rcharlesworth @jonnybid @richreadalot @JennaLucas81 @KSunray3 @JennyHolderLiv @_Reading_Rocks_ @RebeccaLucas @liloakers I agree! These four really caught my attention.
I have had a few people ask me for recommendations of picturebooks that explore separation and divorce. I haven't read it yet but this sounds excellent: https://t.co/TyJu7g9OGh
@rapclassroom @DrPragyaAgarwal @AnnAlston17 These are all doing different things as a dad. Ken's book absolutely knocks it out of the park for me.
