We have just witnessed Turkey's 🇹🇷 hottest day in recorded history.
+49.1°C (120.4°F) was observed in Cizre (Şırnak province).

Finland's 🇫🇮 most northern weather station within the Arctic Circle just recorded a staggering +29.3°C (84.7°F) at 70.1N.
This is exceptional for early June and a stark contrast to the remarkable low temperatures under cloud and rain further south.

Extreme heat will pulse north through Russia and into the Arctic this week.
We are looking at record breaking heat for this time of year with air temperatures above +30°C (86°F) on the fringe of the ice sheets.
Exceptional heat. You would be able to stand and look over the Barents Sea in the Arctic Circle in shorts and shirt today.
It reached a baking +27°C in Nizhnyaya Pesha 🇷🇺. This is >20°C hotter than a typical daytime high for this time of year.
Meanwhile, much of Europe shivers.
