This heat will push further into the Arctic tomorrow.
Yes, the Arctic locally will probably be warmer than your hometown if you live in central/western EU.

We just observed a staggering +28.1°C (82.6°F) just south of the Arctic circle in Oulu, Finland 🇫🇮 .
This is the earliest 28°C on record for Finland.
Finland and Northwest Russia are among the hottest places in Europe right now.

Extreme flip in temperature unfolding in Europe right now. Heat from Africa is migrating north to replace the cold.
A dramatic transition from winter to summer in less than 48 hours.
Brrrrr... Frigid for some but we were a cold blob on a warm planet. Europe hogged the cold in April 2021, making it one of the chilliest Aprils in decades.
But this is not the situation everywhere. This is where it is good to know the difference between weather and climate.
A wild month of extremes so far in April.
This is how the temperatures look for the first half of the month (when comparing to a long term average).
Warm central Russia, cold Europe, warm Greenland, cold Alaska
Which are you, 🔴 or 🔵?
⚠️ Historic moment ⚠️
South Africa 🇿🇦 just set a new record for the highest minimum temperature (31.7°C) in Vioolsdrif in April for the ENTIRE Southern Hemisphere.
The same location also smashed the April national record by a full +1.1°C. The record is now +44.8 °C (112.6°F).
Catastrophic and widespread crop damage has become a reality with another harsh frost across Europe.
"The mildness is (indirectly) at the origin of this agricultural disaster. It allowed the vegetation to wake up. It is a mark of climate change." -

Brutal temperature crash in Europe ⚠️
Two huge records only one week apart. Horrific for flora and fauna at this delicate time of year.
We are looking at the hottest March day (+25.3°C) followed by coldest April night (-20.6°C) in Slovenia 🇸🇮

This Arctic blast was captured by weather forecast models many days in advance.
Large contrast is common at this time of year but this is incredible - a shock to the system.

One extreme to another in less than one week!
Beauvais, France 🇫🇷 broke its monthly heat record on March 31 with a baking +24.8°C and then went on to beat its monthly cold record on April 6 with a chilling -6.9°C.
This violent season flip is brutal for flora and fauna.
