It is such a shame that it seems be near impossible to show how good CRT-Royale is. For it to work, it NEEDS to be displayed at your monitor's native resolution without ANY compression or scaling. These screenshots below will look so much worse than they should.
Something I noticed while messing around with A-10 this morning is that each of the city blocks is actually a single "building" and is destroyed as a whole rather than on a per-building basis.
@greatistheworld@PC98_bot I cannot find video of this, but the resolution looks amazing. Looks like the Mac games of the era, which tended to be higher resolution than contemporary PC-DOS games. Looks like I'm going down a PC-98 hole..
Even if they aren't flyable, it's so easy to add planes to the game now, that I want to finish the game just so I can start modeling and adding random things.
This preserves the "purity" of the style since there are no textures involved and it is pure geometry. This is one of the rules that the game's style follows. No textures can be used to draw things. It's inspired by games like A-10 and Flanker 1.0.
