Cyberteam in Akihabara is ridiculous; ridiculously awesome. Such a time capsule.
Acrobunch #09 was pretty fun. Nice showing by Yuji Moriyama and Hideki Tamura.
@KaelanRamos @Konanne2 @curemachwindy Angel Cop, The Hakkenden, The Weathering Continent, Guyver. Looking directly up someone's nostril holes isn't flattering, but lots of 80s and early 90s stuff couldn't get away from it due to the more realistic drawings.
The Sakkan work is pretty variable. Some are not so great. Once in a while a nice cut comes up, in the case of episode 10 a pretty slick BG animation cut/rotation. It's definitely one of those amateurish early 00s late night TV anime with KA lists way larger than they should be.
@MatteoWatz These are Tatsuo Yoshida's designs, some animators I've never heard of: Juno Uchino, Tsunehisa Nozaki do all the KA on this ep. Also, it was made in 71, not 70, my mistake. Will actually hold off on this for a bit - but the bit of episode 1 I sampled was too cool not to mention.
From "Decision" (1970), Tatsunoko's anime on the Pacific Theater, respectable realist illustration Japanese vs edgy outsider art Gaijin. The late 60s/early 70s was peak "manime".
I was reminded by this image on the left of how much I love Vampire Princess Miyu and Narumi Kakinouchi's art. I also recently went back to review some of her Macross work and was pleasantly surprised at the convincingly charismatic gestures in Minmay's acting. Very underrated.
