@000Angus000 @rexthedogge @CommodoreBlog So I won't mention the modern niceties of OpenXCom. *cough* mouse-wheel *cough* ..I won't even talk about how awesome it is with the Amiga fonts and music plugged-in to it. I will just say this:
It doesn't crash.
😋
@000Angus000 @rexthedogge @CommodoreBlog I did play a bit of UFO: Enemy Unknown on the Amiga just last year. It was great fun .. until it crashed on me. 😐
@CrazyCollector1 Cannon Fodder was such a brilliant game. I mean, it was such a different style of shoot-em-up to just about anything else out there. It was really really fun, and yet, at times, you would be so close to throwing the machine across the room in rage. 😋
@AntStiller The beauty of C64 screenshots is they're so tiny. 5000 Psi-5 screenshots is only 22MB (once they go through Photoshop for crop+border, and PNG Gauntlet for re-compression.) 🤔 But I don't think I thought this through. Now I have over 300 C64 game folders, and 1.6GB of snaps. 😮
@bastichb64k @EC64Forum @EverythingC64 I was playing through this just a couple of days ago. It's quite a good conversion. Controls are a little finicky. (I think they should have cut down the number of moves.) But I like these later-era C64 games with overlaid sprites. They look so beautiful and cartoon-y. 😎
@rexthedogge People often make mention of Revs. But I don't see that much mention of Revs+, which was so much better with the extra four tracks, and the 'smart' steering for those unfortunate souls that didn't have paddles. (I had paddles.) 😁 That game taught me how to drive. 😋
@AntStiller I really like the Accolade graphic style. They seemed to much prefer high-res over multi-colour when they could do it. Sometimes they'd mix-in some multi-colour characters if they were needed. But their preference for high-res gave their games a particular look, which I liked. 👍
@AntStiller It's a good job your avatar comes from the C64 version. Cool looking characters in that one. In the PC version? Not so much. 😋
I never found that a Sci-Fi game on the C64 that gave me that Star Trek "captains bridge" feeling like Psi-5 Trading Company did. Beautiful Accolade presentation. Choose your crew, launch into space, and scramble to evade and destroy enemy ships, while prioritising power/repairs.
@khristian4000 @C64Feed @C64Retweets @CommodoreFormat @CommodoreBlog @Zzap64 Ooooh .. some nice games there.
Good collection. 👍
