@JamesPond47 @FREEZE64UK It's not my ideal crack.. I mean, he's put his name on the Radar Games billboard, and there are exclamation-point glitches in the building silhouette's in the background. But they were good enough to leave the maintenance-men picture on the programming screen. So there's that. 😁
@HighScore @newIapetus I kinda think that anyone who can survive more than three minutes on this one deserves a medal. 😋
(I was able to do pretty well on it when I was younger ..but I was at a point where I would instantly duck when I heard a shot fired, then try to work out after where it was.) 😁
@richmondmike Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It was well enough done that I felt there was a gem of a game under the surface somewhere there. But I just couldn't find it. 😐
You can program an automated sequence of moves to execute when encountering a specific type of obstacle/creature. But I never used it. I preferred to control Floyd manually. But there's just not enough to do to keep it interesting. But it looks good. I wanted to enjoy it more. 🤔
Had trouble finding a version that wouldn't crash on me. There are two disk versions I had (computerbrains and federation) that removed the beautiful maintenance-guys pic and replaced it with a generic sewer-pipe pic, but it seems to crash in-game when switching to the side-view.
Time to mention a bit of an odd-ball C64 game that I remember playing as a kid: Floyd the Droid. Sewer-cleaning robot. Eliminates slime and blockages with his extendable arm, or can vanquish bats and crocodiles with a head-mounted laser, or a well-timed jump. It had potential. 😁
@JamesPond47 @rexthedogge It would have been cool to see a proper sequel to this one. But, I have this sneaking suspicion that a sequel could never really live up the expectations of all the Armalyte fans. 🤔 ..When I finally cheated all the way through I realised I'd seen less than 20% of it before. 😮
@yorecomputer Brilliant wee game. 👍
I never really worked out how to get far in it, but this seems like good use of the Batman license, where he fights and solves puzzles to save the day. 🦇
@ScubaChris72 @CommodoreBlog Yup. No matter that I'm not a fan of the actual gameplay.. The whole look and sound of it is amazing. 😮 I'm still looking at that YouTube long-play, and it's really an impressive piece of work.
@CommodoreBlog Those layers-upon-layers of parallax scrolling, combined with crazy-huge sprites, and a pounding sound-track. 👍 It didn't matter if the gameplay was sub-par. Every sense was being caressed, and you were convinced you *should* love it. 😎
