@Lord_Arse So many landscape types squeezed into this one.
And some opponent cars in bright funky colours too.
(I did kinda tire of brown.)
😋
@Lord_Arse Actually Lotus 3 is a good one to play if you like 2, but you're sick of the set level-path and track layout of 2. It's basically the same game, but with a few more level-types and the option for random levels. (You can even choose how steep the difficulty-ramp is.) 👍
@Lord_Arse Enough of this Lotus 2.
Lotus 3 anyone? Three is the future. I mean, look! The checkerboard causeway's and geodesic dome's of the future! 😎
@000Angus000 @AtariCrypt @_GearsofGames_ Here we go. Barrelling on into the middle of an ST tweet, and going on about the Amiga version.
You could tell it was less-complete than the C64 version, and rushed. So I'll still go for the C64 version and most likely the ST version too, though I've yet to see it. (one day.) 😄
@AtariCrypt @_GearsofGames_ Well, they couldn't have made that look more 80's could they? 😋 Of course, my recommendation would always be the C64 version, because that's the first version I played. 😄
@cbm64 @8BitShowAndTell Having the right controller can really make a game.
Arkanoid has to be mouse or paddles.
Revs and Revs+ are excellent with keyboard and paddles.
Operation Wolf is a brilliant game with mouse.
(The only thing that could be better is a light-gun.) 😎
@jrmarcano @JazRignall I loved Airborne Ranger.
Bought this and Project: Stealth Fighter at the same time and my addiction to Microprose games was cemented. 👍
Airborne Ranger was an unusual title for them. It looked like an arcade game with strategic elements. It was kinda like playing Solid Snake. 😄
@ResetC64 @mdf200 I was so keen to get a TheC64, but I missed out (tight finances here at the time). It always looked a little crap running 50Hz games on the 60Hz PC display. But over the covid lockdowns I got a 50Hz capable display, and my wife has an ultra-wide at 50Hz. Retro-life is perfect. 😋
@ResetC64 @mdf200 And people will say "but its not the same as a CRT". I know. I put up with those reflective, dim, unsaturated, blurry, heavy beasts for years. I don't miss that. I have a genuine Atari-port stick hooked up to this PC and a display that runs at 50Hz. And for me, that's awesome. 😎
