@davidmt @retrogaming @AmigaRetweets Yeah.. you can feel how truncated all the scenes and SFX are from having to fit on a few floppy disks. That said, it was beautifully done, considering the constraints. And it's half playable once WHDLoad installed. 👍
@sincespacies My console timeline was quite short:
1) CD-32
2) Nintendo 64
3) XBox 360
Really I was more of a computer kinda guy..
😁
@StooCambridge All the Amigans in my group just loved the title song.
One of those games that was so easy to get into, but the complexity slowly ramped up, until you were dodging rockets, taking out rocket-men, then jumping the water with your Skidoo to make a bloody mess of them all. 👍
@rexthedogge I loved the platforming on this one, and the beautifully theatrical gun-poses he does. Once you've memorised all the odd joystick combos to leap, climb, and jump about, it's a whole lot of fun. 👍
@rexthedogge And that's the thing: The first one might well be the best one. 🤔 But because it was so so long before I saw it.. It's kinda how I started the Ultima series at Ultima III. I loved III, IV, V, etc. But I just can't get into Ultima II or I, because they're so much more primitive.
@BitmapsRetro I love the early days of machines, when everyone who has one is playing the same stuff. 😁 Marble Madness was always touted as showing how good 16-bit machines could do arcade ports. I did like Super Sprint. Lower resolution than the arcade, but still really good gameplay. 👍
@000Angus000 @rexthedogge Well, there's not really anything new in the gameplay to be discovered there. (It's a maze shooter, and doesn't claim to be much more.) And the sequels are gorgeous looking games. So I really couldn't see any reason to try the original game. More than the ten minutes I gave it 😋
@subchrist @fuzzweed @ryangoodsell Any easier to rip from an Amiga game?
Legend of the Exploding Fist is a game with ripped Way of the Exploding Fist graphics. Looks like it's all embedded in a single, uncompressed, executable file. (Compresses 60% in PowerPacker. Might be uncompressed GFX)

@CommodoreLad @JudgeDrokk It's really very very good.
Not only have they got the graphics looking so so good, but the gameplay is almost flawless. The feeling of the physics is spot-on. After playing it for a little while, it's easy to forget that you're *not* playing the Amiga version.
Great stuff. 👍
