@Ozymandias2504 @RetroBoyJon I used to play everything via the hacked/trained games on the C64 Scene Database. But now I'm really enjoying going back to the original tape versions, with their cool turbo-loaders. As a kid I hated waiting for things to load on tape. But now there's such nostalgia about it. 😎

@JamesMcCormack @MikeJMika It's got a good 2.5D look to it.
For a non-Bitmap Bros game, that has a real Bitmap Bros look to it though, I recommend Banshee. A cool vertically-scrolling shoot-em-up. It's like Sidewinder taken into the 21st century .. via a steampunk 20th century alternate universe. 😉

@MikeJMika ViroCop has some seriously good presentation to it.
I like the game.. but it starts to feel a bit same-y to me before I've even left the sports level. 🤔 Maybe I should revisit it again when I'm in a less-cranky mood. 😋

@C64Reloaded I used to think of it as a puzzle platformer.
Now I realise the truth: it just hates us all. 😋
It is adorably cute though.

@C64Reloaded Somehow the Dungeon Master games completely passed me by. It wasn’t until Hired Guns came out that I became hooked on the format. (Hired Guns, basically being a Sci-Fi Dungeon Master for up to four players.. I mean, how could it be better than that?) 😁

@JamesPond47 @MikeJMika it’s not so tricky to play.
Stand just out of range, and do mid-kicks whenever he tries to move in closer. 👍 Later, you can play around with moving in when he moves in and letting fly with punches. 😁 Though you’ll usually take a few kicks with that more-aggressive strategy..

@000Angus000 @BitmapsRetro Wikipedia lists the Amiga as mid '87, and Firepower in '88. So it was early in the days of the A500. Possibly it was developed on an A1000 then? Hard to say.

Certainly they put a good bit of work into it. It's a beautifully presented game. 🤔 Wonder how they digitized the tanks?

@C64Reloaded There are many many platform games in the world..
But there's something different about New Zealand Story. Excellent wee cartoon kiwi too. 👍

@BitmapsRetro Firepower is good fun.
I had that since my first Amiga500.
Steal the flag from the enemies base. Maybe fight the enemy tank, and wage general destruction on his base, while he does the same to you. Can be played one-player, two-player local, or modem. Loved splatting the men. 😁
