A fun exploration into old age that provides children with another perspective of older members of their family or community.
@mazmitchell @PrimarySchoolBC @booksfortopics @ClubPicturebook These would be nice writing stimuli & encourage chn to subvert expectations of what a quest entails, challenge stereotypes, link quests/journeys to empathy & write themselves into their own. Great thing w/ picturebooks is that you can use them across the whole primary age range.
@MrS_Primary @HarrietJBerry @KarlDuke8 @smithsmm @Misterbodd @_Reading_Rocks_ @MissC_1717 Slow Loris by Alexis Deacon (out of print, unfortunately, but well worth tracking down) is a brilliant tale of why Loris’ are slow moving and tired during the day. Great link to adult life when we party too hard. 😂
Some more classics. 2/2
@my_red_spark @OvendenLaura @catwrote Sure I picked it up alongside ‘Freedom’ as soon as I joined the school. Catherine’s books are rooted in history. Need to read more!

@Mat_at_Brookes @Sydneydraws @NealPorterBooks @marygtroche Beautiful quote. One I had not encountered before. Certainly befits Sydney’s work.
@jejr100 @charliehacking @davidjalmond @WalkerBooksUK @clpe1 @BIGPictureBooks @visitkielder @OrdnanceSurvey @kathryntickell @7Stories @storyriver Loved ‘Where Your Wings Were’. Wish it could have travelled South. It’d be a great theme for @Discover_Story to explore for KS2 readers.

The graphic novels illustrated by her are new to me. Reminds me a little of Kerascoet’s work in ‘Beautiful Darkness’.
An interesting read. Definitely one for you, @one_to_read
- after our picturebooks-for-adults discussion last week. A beautiful blur between literature, art and meditation on life. https://t.co/fZ3yNpYMWp
