Beats that old SATS writing piece about the statues that move. There’s some parallels to Van Allsburg here.

The day was spent focusing on developing our understanding of the ideation, creation, reflection & publication processes - with Joe on hand to physically & metaphorically illustrate what this looks like in practice - exploring influences, and NC skills such as editing & revising.

@TeresaCremin @teachprimarily @Team_English1 @smithsmm There are many already suggested that I would recommend (wordless masters like Wiesner, Tan and Becker). I came across these relatively recently - sure Simon suggested a while ago. Well worth exploring. They’re by @guojingart 👌🏼

@my_red_spark @emmac2603 Amazing illustrations (love the attention to detail). Can’t wait to read what the pupils write after visualising and mapping out each level of the lighthouse.
Reminds me of this haunting picturebook. Will have to lend it to the class to read. A Gary Crews classic!
