Today I did not feel like being the whole day texturing, so I have used a few hours of the night, with the retopology of a "forgotten" project
I only need to add the fur in the boots, and the retopo will be finished.

I'm working on Bradan's model now! I want to finish his sculpt today, and maybe retopologize and texture him if I have time. I'll be sharing all the renders for the finished models soon. ^^

So this is my first ever 3D fan art. It was created from the concept art by @Pori75798494 . The model has some topology and texture issues but I am proud of the result. Hope to further improve my skills for later pieces. Criticism would be appreciated

@RubberNinja topology really depends on the model/character you created, with the imp i needed a decent topology to bend but when it comes to robots such as this fine fella as long as i get rid of the obvious un-necessary tri's you are generally fine, just keep bits that make the shape
@RubberNinja @Remanance topology is fun when you have less triangles than the Mario 64 model
@RubberNinja One handpainted one without baking, and one PBR stylized one with baking and more complex modeling! Looking at topo is super interesting, I look forward to getting better with my own topology.
@Feylock_art @RubberNinja Oh man I think these are two that I have wireframes for. The character is a WIP but real happy with the clean topology on it.
@RubberNinja I've been doing 3D for a while now, and lately moved more into sculpting. But what I've learned about making characters for animation is that rigging artists thank you for smooth topology. 🙏
@RubberNinja i'm a game artist, and i mostly work my way up from low polygon counts rather than sculpt, so all my stuff is mid-poly with handplaced topology. for faces, i cut loops around the eyes and mouth and just add detail and polygons for smoothing. for joints... i suffer
@RubberNinja Here's the retopology of some older stuff I worked on! The more recent things are still under NDA but I do modeling and retopo all day.
It's really cool to see that you're getting more into 3D, I can't wait to see what you make in it👀!
