So basically, I'm a jack-of-trades when it comes to 3D animation. But of all the tasks that go into the art, I'm personally the least interested in UVMapping and texturing. So I developed an art style that looks good w/o or with minimal texturing.

Finished texturing Tristana at 4am and i have work in 3 hours. Skin depth makes so much of a difference. Tomorrow is optimizing and combining texture sheets and maybe rigging.

Thank you for the phenominal tutorial! That gradient map trick combined with the ao/curvature map is something that improved my workflow in texturing majorly. Here is the concept art for the alien btw. From the card game Keyforge. Working on a Wood Elf Spirit Keeper currently.
