But baletanke certainly mainly worn beach Victorian times leather or satin (with hosiery). Also canvas leather or satin ankle boot flats I think had rubber soles. But I see nothing much like classic plimsolls for beach. Evidence baletanke called 'slippers' but 'extra heavy soles'
